Part of a series that was produced for an exhibition at the Chamber of Commerce.
This one is blown up large over 1M tall. (check the dimensions or come to see it in person at the Chamber of Commerce - which is open from 9:00-16:00 Monday-Friday).
I walk past church at least once every day and have attended many services. I love the brickwork, architecture and colours of grand buildings like these. When they were built these were some of the most important buildings on the island and the sense of grandeur you get when viewing it (from any angle) still feels that way. This front view from ground level looking up - helps to convey the size and magnificence of such buildings.
The colouring and palette is heavily pink/purple and yellow based. (Suits ecclesiastical themes) and was chosen to depict the arrival of the autumn skies and changing colours we see at this time of year. This is taken on a clear and bright day with no rain. Others in the series are a little more misty.
The work is available to view at the Mill Street Studio on most Saturdays (between 10:30 and 15:00) or by appointment at any other time. Message to arrange to view this piece or any others.
Work can be delivered for free in Guernsey or picked up from the studio by arrangement.
